This is a traditional dish of UDUPI commonly known as kodekenna which is made out of sour curd.It is simple to prepare,tasty,low fat,and can be eaten with rice.
1 cup grated cocunut
3 green chilli
1 cup sour curd
1/2 Tsp Fenugreek seeds (methi seeds)
1/2 Tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
vegetables which can be used are BENDE KAAYI (Bhindi/Okhra/Ladies finger), BOODA KUMBALA KAAYI (Ash-gourd),cucumber..These vegetables give a good taste for the recipe.
Cut the vegetables and keep them to boil with little amount of water to this add green chillies .After it has been boiled add thick paste of coconut (grinded in blender) add salt to taste ..After it has cooled just before you serve add the curd and mix it well.
Just to add flavour give a tadka of fenugreek seeds and jeera.
One important thing is only one vegetable goes with Majjige huli.
